OVERVIEW

COMPANY PROFILE

Sarimanok Feeds Co. Inc. was created on February 13, 1990 by concerned Businessmen who felt the need to make quality animal feed products at affordable prices for the Filipino. The company name was taken from the legendary bird “Sarimanok” bringer of prosperity and progress. Ancient folklore says that every time the Sarimanok appeared in a village, a bumper crop harvest was sure to come – herds and flocks of robust and productive animals, boatloads of fish catch, cartloads of fruits/crops/vegetables.

Sarimanok began its manufacturing operations in a small feed mill at the compound of Univet Agricultural Products, Inc. – its sister division. From this humble beginning, Sarimanok started to make its mark in the feed industry. SFCI’s rise to the list of top 1000 corporations in the Philippines in three years is phenomenal considering the presence of corporate giants. As the demand for its products steadily grew, more modern and much bigger capacity feed Mills had to be built.

Thus, in 1994, the company’s fully automated plant was constructed in Bocaue, Bulacan. Not long after its construction, the capacity of its mill was soon maximized because of the continuously growing demand for Sarimanok feed products. And so again in 2004, a modern feed mill of much larger capacity (triple the size of the first plant) was built in San Fernando City, Pampanga. Booth feed mills are strategically located within the heart of the country’s livestock and poultry industry.

Sarimanok is at the cutting edge of animal nutrition technology. In year 2001, we made a technical support arrangement with Akey, Inc. (USA) a world-renowned animal nutrition research company. Our technical services department plus our pool of local consultants work closely with Akey to make sure that new technologies can be profitably applied in our local situation.

Sarimanok believes that its people are its greatest asset. From the onset, all of its employees have upheld the bayanihan way of life. A company culture that instills discipline, promotes teamwork and sharing in the fruits of the company’s achievements. Sarimanok has a very strong team, a closely-knit family, united in thought and in action committed to total quality management in every aspect of company operations.

Foremost of these is Quality Assurance (QA). A system that starts from raw material testing through production, packaging, and storage processes until the fresh feeds reach the customers. Sarimanok runs a feed analysis laboratory, one of the few accredited by the Bureau of Animal Industry (BAI), a facility which enables the company to customize production of feeds for the specific needs of a discriminating list of clients.

Indeed, quality pays! For in the long run, product performance spells growth in the business. And Sarimanok’s complete line of hog, poultry, and specialty feeds for ducks, fish and gamefowl is breaking new grounds and slowly gaining popularity. Among its more popular brands are Early Wean, Pigrolac, Mama Pro, and Thunderbird.

A dynamic management team involved in its day-to-day operations combined with a highly motivated employee work force spurs the continuing growth of Sarimanok. The company’s expansion program affirms its commitment to the country’s development and faith in the capacity of the Filipino to attain economic progress.

Against the backdrop of a fiercely competitive market, Sarimanok emerges as a homegrown entrepreneur, a leading manufacturer of specialty feed, out to make a difference through quality products at affordable prices.

Sarimanok Feeds Company Inc. is a subsidiary of United Laboratories (www.unilab.com.ph), the biggest pharmaceutical company in Southeast Asia.
