Manulife Business Processing Services (MBPS) is a wholly owned subsidiary of Manulife Financial created in 2006 to provide back office, accounting, finance and information technology services to other Manulife subsidiaries worldwide. Amongst our staff are professionals with background in accounting, investments, actuarial science, underwriting, medical science and information technology.

Our building is located in the UP North Science & Technology Park in Quezon City, Metro Manila.

Responsibilities:

• Systems level Database administration for Manulife-hosted Applications
• Diagnose and correct database failure conditions
• Pro-actively monitor and adjust database parameters and support structures
• When appropriate, provide on-call production database support for SQL server production database environments
• Ensure top application performance via proper DB maintenance, tuning DB server parameters(MS SQL)
• Develop / use database utilities to help the development / maintenance process
• Ensures new initiatives are consistent with existing DBA standards
• Designs and implements appropriate systems to ensure data archiving, disaster recovery and effective availability of data assets are intact.

Requirements:

• Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor's/College Degree in Engineering (Computer/Telecommunication), Engineering (Electrical/Electronic), Engineering (Industrial), Computer Science/Information Technology or equivalent.
• Must have 2-5 year(s) of working experience in Database Administration for MS SQL Server
• Must have in-depth knowledge of database management for SQL Server 2000, 2005 and 2008 along with the appropriate data management tools.
• Strong understanding of relational database structures, theories, principles and practices
